Ashley Norwood, MBACP
Offering compassionate, professional therapy.
About Me
I came to this work because I believe therapy can make a real difference in people’s lives. My path into the field was not a straight line, but throughout my life I have seen how powerful it can be to have a space where you are heard, understood, and accepted without judgement.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. My training and experience support the work I do, but what matters most is the relationship we build together.
My approach is grounded in both psychodynamic and person-centred traditions. This means I pay close attention to how earlier experiences and patterns may continue to shape the present, while also offering a space where you can speak freely and feel respected just as you are.
I work online with adults across the UK. Whether you are facing a particular difficulty or a more general sense that life could feel different, my aim is to provide a reliable and thoughtful space where your experiences can be explored at your own pace.
Guiding Values
Authenticity
I bring honesty and openness into our work. Being authentic allows the process to be grounded and real.
Saftey & Trust
Therapy only works when you feel safe enough to speak freely. I work to offer a steady, reliable relationship where trust can grow over time.
Respect
Every person's story is unique. I hold deep respect for your individuality, values, and choices, and I will not make assumptions about what you need.
Compassion
I approach each client with care and empathy. I recognise that beginning therapy can take courage and I meet that step with understanding.
Depth & Reflection
My practise is grounded in psychodynamic and person-centred traditions, which means we look not only at present concerns but also at the deeper patterns and experience that may shape them.
What about...
You should call 999 or visit your local A&E. I am not a crisis service and cannot provide immediate support.
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. In our 60 minute video call we will discuss your needs, goals, and how therapy could help you.
I ask for 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. If you miss a session without notice, I will charge the full session fee. The first time, I waive the fee; life happens.
Every situation is unique and healing takes time. I will work with you to set realistic goals and timelines based on your needs. Therapy is proven to be effective, but it requires commitment and patience.
Although rare, if I need to cancel a session, I will give you as much notice as possible and we will reschedule at your convenience.
Yes, online therapy is proven to be as effective as in-person therapy for many people. It offers flexibility and convenience, allowing you to attend sessions from the comfort of your home.
